Here at Rail Days, we specialise in taking school groups on tours of Devon and Cornwall's beautiful and fascinating train network. We tailor our school tours to make them both fun and educational, providing teachers with specially designed resources that will really get children thinking. Our guides' talks and our range of resources touch on many areas of the National Curriculum at Key Stage 2. For an example of one of our worksheets in each curriculum area, please click on the subject titles below.

History. (eg. who built the lines, when, and why?)

Geography (e.g. how train lines traced and shaped the region's landscape, and how populations formed and grew with the coming of the railway)

Personal, social, health and economic education (e.g how train travel is a sustainable form of transport)

Maths (e.g. how many passengers can a train carry, how long will it take to reach a destination, how much in fares will be collected by the conductor)

Design and Technology/ Science (e.g. how train engines work, the physics of railway travel)

We actively promote our tours by sending information packs to schools in Devon and Cornwall. If your school hasn't received one recently and you would like one, please use our contact form (link to contact page) or give us a call on 0845 426 0541.
